Benefit Planned for Brittni Vallier Fedewa

The friends and family and Brittni Vallier Fedewa are hosting a benefit at the Knights of Columbus Hall from Noon to 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 11th.

28-year-old Brittni is the daughter of Glenn and Tammy Vallier, and the sibling of Haylee and Nolan Vallier. Brittni is married to Chad Fedewa, the son of Chris and Lisa Fedewa.

On January 29th, Brittni was admitted to Meijer Heart Center, which is part of Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids. Doctors are unsure of the exact cause of her heart damage, but they believe that it may be related to a virus that she had around Christmas this year. She has been in the intensive care unit since January 31st and has had several surgeries and setbacks. Brittni now has an implanted heart pump (LVAD) which will aid her heart function while she is on the wait list for a heart transplant.

According to Brittni’s aunt, Jen Vallier, “Once Brittni is stable enough to be moved from ICU, she will still require additional time in the hospital and once discharged home will require 24-hour care for some time. They are expecting it could be many months before she is able to have a heart transplant.”

The benefit is intended to raise funds to cover expenses such as medical expenses not covered by their insurance, and lost wages for Brittni and Chad during this long journey. The benefit will include a pulled pork lunch, 50/50, and silent auction.

If you would like to donate to the auction, please contact Laura Flynn at 517-980-5996 or Richelle Vallier at 517-526-5183.

For those interested in donating but unable to attend the benefit, deposits can be made at any Portland Federal Credit Union under the “Brittni Vallier Fedewa Benefit” account, or make checks to “Brittni Fedewa” and mail to Lisa Fedewa at 9910 Looking Glass Road, Portland, MI 48875.

Jen Vallier also said, “Chad, Brittni, and their families are overwhelmed with gratitude for the prayers, thoughts, and deeds of all of those who have reached out during this time and are closely following their journey. This has been a hard and unexpected blow, but they are staying strong in their Faith and maintain a positive outlook on the future.”

Brittni will turn 29 on March 10th, the day before the benefit.
