Obituary for Richard James Wallace
Richard James Wallace, age 69, of Portland passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alvalynn; sister, Judy Smalley; mother, Bernice; and grandson, Tristen-James Brown.
Surviving are his father, Robert; siblings, Barbara (Mike) Tabor, Sandy (Bob) Fish, Robert (Susan) Wallace, Linda (Larry) DeWitt, and Vicky (John) Overla; children, Andrew (Linnea) Wallace, Amy (Chuck) Odom, and Maylynn (Terry) Scarborough; grandchildren, Samantha "Sammie Sue" Brown, Zerick Wallace, Adison Wallace, Raven Odom, Tayler Scarborough, Leah Wallace, Ian Wallace, and Dylan Odom; and long-time childhood friends, Ed Swanson and Rick Castillo.
Richard was proud to serve his country in the United States Marine Corp. When he was honorably discharged, he worked for Grand Trunk Railroad until he retired. He enjoyed playing the guitar, writing music, spending time with his daughter and grandkids, and collecting just about anything. He will be greatly missed.
The Memorial Service will be conducted by Pastor Duane Bower at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Danby Township Cemetery with Military Honors.
