St. Pats Girls Basketball 2018-2019 Preview

When the Shamrocks start their season hosting Webberville next Tuesday at 7:30, the team will take the court with five new starters. This year’s team will feature five seniors, two juniors, and three freshmen.

Last year, the team finished 16-7 overall, and 3rd place in the CMAC with an 11-5 league record, but several of the experienced players from that squad have graduated. One notable loss is Katie Coyne who was honorable mention All-State in 2017-2018.

Long time Shamrock coach Al Schrauben is well aware of his team’s relative inexperience, but sounds optimistic of the team’s potential. Schrauben said, “We are a work in progress. We have the ability to be very good.” Schrauben added, “I expect to improve along the way. We have a lot of potential but it may not look that way early in the season.”

We look forward to seeing this team develop quickly.
