Governor Gretchen Whitmer to Visit Portland on Saturday

In an email sent to parents on Tuesday afternoon, Portland Public Schools Superintendent Will Heath notified the school community that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer would be visiting Portland on Saturday.

The statement said, "This Saturday, March 16th, at 11:00 a.m., Governor Gretchen Whitmer will host a town hall presentation at Portland High School. It is not often that the Governor of the State of Michigan visits our community and our school. This is a special moment and opportunity to interact with the Governor in a small venue. Governor Whitmer would like this to be an event for our community and is requesting a small venue. We will host this event in the High School Library which will be arranged to fit 150 people. It is hard to tell how many people will attend this event and therefore if our numbers go beyond 200 on Saturday we will move to the auditorium. This town hall presentation is open to the Portland Community. If you plan to attend please come early in order to get a seat. Coming early will also help us determine if we need to use the auditorium. Our doors will open at 10:30 a.m.

Once again I would like to invite all interested to the High School Library on Saturday, March 16th, at 11:00 a.m. to hear a town hall presentation by Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Our doors will open at 10:30 a.m."
