Portland Fire Softball Registration Now Open

Portland Fire, a locally based travel softball program for girls, is now registering for the 2019 season. The program fields teams at the 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U levels.

Registration forms are now available for pick up in the Middle School, Westwood and Oakwood offices. If your daughter is interested in playing for Portland Fire, please fill out the registration form and return to the Middle School, Westwood or Oakwood offices in an envelope labeled “Attention: Patti Fish.” You may also email the completed form to pfish@portlandk12.org, or mail to 729 Tillies Ave., Portland, MI 48875 by April 12th.

The registration fee is $90.00 per player. Please note that this cost does not include a uniform.

Please do not include money with the registration form. There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Monday, April 22nd at 7:00 in the Oakwood cafeteria. All money will be collected at the meeting

Portland Fire games do not begin until after Memorial Day. Practices will start the end of April or beginning of May and some of the practices will be on Sundays. The 8U and 10U teams will play one game twice week and the 12U and 14U teams will play double headers twice a week. There is one tournament at the end of the season in Okemos on a weekend, otherwise everything else is during the week.

Opponents will be other community-based teams around the Lansing area and most are played on high school fields.
