Obituary for Marion Lorain Jordan


Marion Lorain Jordan, age 88, of Portland, went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2019. She was born on October 23, 1930 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the daughter of Herbert Lorne and Nancy Dolores Estelle (Gotch) Watson. Marion was a faithful member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Westphalia. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and reading in her spare time. However, her greatest devotion was to her family, she was an adored wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she always made sure that her family was well cared for and well loved.

Preceding Marion in death are her parents; husband, Dr. William Walter Jordan; brother, Arnold Watson; and several in-laws. She is survived by her children, Nancy Jordan; Eileen (Gary) Schneider; and Marcia (Richard) Boardman; grandchildren, John, David, and Mary Schwend. Jordan (Amy) Schneider and Laura (Lee) Fedewa, and Ryan Boardman; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Lana (Mark) Chapdelaine; brother-in-law, G. Marshall “Mike” (Roberta) Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Cheboygan at a later date. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. The rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral chapel. For those wishing, contributions may be made to St. Mary’s School in memory of Marion.
