Obituary for Brandon Layne Sherman

Brandon Layne Sherman, age 47, of Portland passed away June 12, 2019. He was born August 22, 1971 in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Ronald and Katherine (Canfield) Sherman. Brandon was a graduate of Grand Ledge High School Class of 1989. He was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed fishing, camping, kayaking, and grilling. Brandon was also a very talented woodworker and had a knack for having an abundance of “useless knowledge” and sharing it with his family and friends.

Preceding Brandon in death is his father, Ronald Sherman. He is survived by his mother, Katherine Sherman; two children, Alyssa (fiancé, Garrison Shepard) Sherman and Connor Sherman; brothers, Christopher and Reggy Sherman; former wife, Sheila Young; and many loving friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 24, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.
