Betsy Ross of the Lansing Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution visits Middle School
Portland Middle School celebrates the signing of our Constitution with a visit from Betsy Ross of the Lansing Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.
Each year the Lansing Chapter helps schools in Ionia, Clinton, and Ingham counties celebrate Constitution Week, September 17-23, by providing Constitution packets for the students in 5th and 6th grades.
The Daughters of the American Revolution is the largest all female volunteer organization in the world dedicated to historical preservation, education and patriotism. Members are required to prove their connection to an ancestor who has contributed to the Revolutionary War.
