Enjoy a Virtual Tour of Hodge Lodge and Lyla Munson Art

On March 25 at 6:30 at the Senior Service Building , 144 Kent Street, the public will have an opportunity to view many of the paintings done by local artist Lyla Munson at this month's meeting of the Portland Area Historical Society. Deacon Randy Hodge and wife purchased the house formerly owned by Lyla Munson and converted it into their residence/ Airbnb showcasing Lyla's art. They have the large murals that used to hang in the American Legion Hall on Grand River Avenue before it was demolished. The historical saved the murals and stored them in city hall for several years. Deacon Hodge realized he had the perfect spot to hang them and made arrangements with the society and city hall to showcase them. In addition to the large murals, he has a large collection of oils painted by Lyla including an oil given to the Historical Society by the Senior Service Center at last month's meeting and then loaned to Randy to be part of the collection shown at the Lodge. This will be a virtual presentation so you will be able to see some of the art work. Many of you might even have paintings done by Lyla Munson?
