Lady Raiders roll over Charlotte

On Friday night the Portland High School girls basketball team hosted the Orioles of Charlotte.
The Portland squad jumped out to a 22-6 first quarter lead, and never looked back, defeating Charlotte 71-16.
Portland was led by sophomore forward Erica Russman with 14 points. Freshman guard Lily Thelen and junior guard Malia Thelen each added 11 points. Freshman Bella Spitzley had 10 points. Freshman guard Summer Stopcynski scored eight points and junior guard Ella Gruber had seven points.
Charlotte was led by junior Emma Carns who scored six points.

The Lady Raiders improve to 10-6 overall, 5-1 in the CAAC White. Next week they host Laingsburg (8-8 overall) on Tuesday, and travel to Ionia (7-8 overall, 2-3 CAAC White) on Friday.
