Lady Raiders top Charlotte 59-23

The Portland girls basketball team traveled to Charlotte on Friday night to face the Orioles in CAAC White action. The Raiders picked up a decisive 59-23 lead.

Offensively, Portland was led by freshman guard Lily Thelen with 12 points. Junior guard Jayden Townsend scored nine points. Junior guard Malia Thelen added eight points, and freshman Summer Stopcynski, junior forward Alexa Weber, and sophomore Paige Spedoske each contributed six points for the Lady Raiders.

The Orioles were led by junior Jaelyn Baker with 11 points, and junior Samyah Berryhill with eight points.

The Lady Raiders improve to 4-2 overall, 2-0 in the CAAC White. On Monday they host East Lansing in their final action of the calendar year. The Trojans are currently 1-3 overall.
