Lady Shamrock basketball pre-season preview

After a 15-8 record last season, the Lady Shamrocks are looking forward to a competitive season, and hopefully a playoff run.

Coach Al Schrauben is excited about this season. "We are returning 7 or 8 significant contributors from last year, and we should be very quick. I believe this might be one of the quicker teams we have ever had and we will cause troubles for other teams defensively. I think we will be fun to watch, but we will need to shoot well." He also commented that their season starts out with a with a bang, playing CHAP, PW, Fowler, Potterville and Division 2 semifinalist Grand Rapids West Catholic all before Christmas this year.

Returning starters Laynie Meredith (Senior Guard-1st team All-CMAC), Gracelynn Rockey (Freshmen Forward- Honorable Mention All-CMAC), Addison Scheurer (Senior Guard), Rylee Scheurer (Senior Forward) should be a very good core group. Returning contributors include Hannah Weller (Senior Guard), Tori Sandborn (Senior Guard) and Maddy Honsowitz (Sophomore Center), who will be joined by Bella Russman (Junior Forward), Meghan Meyers (Junior Forward), and Lily Sandborn (Sophomore Guard) to make a deep team.
