Spring is All Buttoned Up

Springtime flowers are beautiful, but they never last as long as you’d like. Now you can make a colorful bouquet that will last all year. Register anytime, then come in starting May 8 to pick up a bag containing everything you need to make a beautiful button bouquet. Ages 15 and up.

Summer Reading Kickoff Extravaganza

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! Because everyone’s invited to the Summer Reading Kickoff Extravaganza at the Portland District Library Friday, June 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

An entire day dedicated to food, fun, swag, and Summer Reading Program registration for all-ages. And when we say all-ages, we mean it! We want everyone in the community, ages 0-100, to stop by the library to grab something to eat, enjoy our activities, and most importantly, register for this year’s reading program.

**This year’s kickoff is sponsored by the Innovative Community Library Grant, a partnership between Portland Public Schools and Portland District Library.**

Gems in the Sun

Spring is here, and that means more sun to make the gems in our suncatchers sparkle and gleam! Register beginning Friday, May 12 for your Gems in the Sun Take-and-Make bag, which will include everything you need to make a beautiful beaded suncatcher. This program is recommended for ages 6-12, requires parental supervision, and is limited to 35 patrons.

Virtual Teen Art Hour: Punch It Out!

Curious about punch needle art? May's craft project has you covered. Your Take-And-Make Bag includes all the materials needed to start your needle art journey to create a Monstera or palm leaf in hues of green, coral and cream. Starting Monday, May 1, register at the Youth Desk and snag your Take-And-Make Bag. Space is limited to 15 teens, ages 13-18.
