Fresh Food Bonanza

Welcome to the Fresh Food Bonanza! Starting Monday, July 15, patrons can stop by the library’s Youth Desk to pick up a welcome packet and start their cooking adventures. Pick from the many herbs and veggies in our garden, include them in your yummy culinary adventures at home, and send us a picture to be entered to win prizes all summer long. We can’t wait to see what kinds of tasty plates our patrons will create!

 

For the Love of Food

Our “For the Love of Food” journey continues this fall with a bonus for all who participate in our food exploration: for each “For the Love of Food” program you attend, you will get an entry for the chance to win a fabulous food-themed prize!  We kick off in September with a sweet exploration of frosting boards. Share your kitchen creations with us the fourth Wednesday of each month starting September 25 at 6:00 p.m.  Don't forget to bring the recipe!

 

Jack-0-Lantern Jamborree

Get ready for a ghoulishly good time at our all-ages Jack-o-Lantern Jamboree on Friday, October 25 from 12:00-4:00 pm! Grab a goody bag, trick-or-treat around the library, enter our costume contest, and so much more! Don’t fright over registration or a ticket, this is a drop-in program where we want you to come for the boos, stay for the fun, and leave with hauntingly happy Halloween memories to hold!

 

Branched-Out Storage

Turn that chaotic, knotted, tangled mess of scarves or necklaces into a thing of beauty with this forest-themed hanger.  It’s easy to make, looks great, and looking for supplemental sticks can serve as a welcome nature break!  Register anytime, and on September 23 pick up a bag with everything you’ll need to make this gorgeous organizer.  Ages 16 and up, registration is required. 

 

 


Children’s and Teen


Tiny Tots

Wiggle, giggle, and read! Miss Grace is ready to wiggle and giggle with Tiny Tots (ages 2 & under) and their caregivers this fall. We will dive into a world of enchanting stories and playful movement! As we turn the pages of our favorite tales, we’ll stretch, hop, and twirl, making each story an exciting, interactive experience. Come read, sing, and move with Tiny Tots at the library on Fridays at 10:00 am: September 27, October 11, October 25, November 8, and November 22. Enjoy virtually from home every other week with new sensory items available starting Monday, September 16. Registration is required for both virtual and in-person storytime. 

 

Book Cubs

Go down on the farm with Miss Jamie this fall where Book Cubs,children ages 3-5, can explore the wonders of the farm! We’ll meet friendly animals like clucking chickens, munching cows, and playful piglets as we journey through fields and barns. Each storytime will spark imaginations, teach about farm life, and celebrate the joys of nature. Enjoy virtually from home September through November with our Take-And-Make Bag supplies available starting Monday, September 16. In-person storytime is every other Wednesday at 10:00 am beginning October 2. Registration is required for both virtual and in-person options.

 

Books & Blankets

When the skies open up and rain begins to fall, it redesigns our world in unexpected ways! Explore the wonders of the rain at Books & Blankets on Thursday, September 26 at 6:00pm. Bring a blanket to the Children’s Sensory Garden, have a treat on us, and take home a new book! This program is recommended for families with children ages 8 & under. Registration is required.

 

Virtual STEM Club: Rockin’ Rocker

Ever wonder how a Rockin' Rocker, or Newton's Rocker works?  In September's Virtual STEM Club, we'll make our own rocker out of craft sticks and marbles, and then explore how energy moves through objects as the marbles swing back and forth.  Registration for Take-and-Make bags begins Wednesday, September 18. This program is recommended for ages 6-12, requires parental supervision, and is limited to 35 patrons.

 

Virtual Teen Art Hour: Totally Tote-tastic

Unleash your creativity during September's Teen Art Hour program "Totally Tote-tastic", where you'll use fabric markers and groovy boho-inspired stencils to design and decorate your very own tote bag! Whether you're into bold patterns, intricate designs, or vibrant colors, our Take-and-Make bags have got you covered. Register and pick yours up at the Youth Desk beginning Tuesday, September 3. There are 12 spots available for teens, ages 13-18.
