Library News
Autumn at the library can be a relaxing time of year… until someone turns up dead. In another classic case of whodunit, Murder in The Stacks is back at the Portland District Library! This all-ages, month-long murder mystery program will have you searching the library for clues, unlocking suspect interview videos, and collecting evidence. There are key witnesses and multiple suspects, but someone is lying. Do you have what it takes to figure out who? Put on your thinking caps and head to the library starting Friday, November 3. Patrons will have until Saturday, December 2 to collect their evidence and take a guess at who committed the crime and why. One lucky sleuthing team will go home with a grand prize fit for only the best detectives!
Quilling Club
Have you ever heard of Quilling? It is the art of using strips of paper that are rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create different shapes, and glued together to create decorative designs. Quilling designs can be used to decorate greeting cards, pictures, boxes, and more. The library is starting a drop-in quilling club in October, which will meet on the second Wednesday of each month—November 8—from 6:30-7:30. We’ll work on our projects together, show each other new techniques we've learned, and share ideas.
