Barks for Books
Our favorite furry friend Dixie will be at the library again this winter cheering on our young readers during Barks for Books! Sign-up for a 15-minute time slot, Thursday, February 23 from 5:00-6:30 pm. Readers, ages 6-12, will be able to practice reading aloud to a therapy trained dog which helps improve their communication skills while also building self-confidence. Patrons must pre-register by calling 517-647-6981 and be on time for their scheduled slot!
Ready, Set, Game!
Looking for something fun to do after school? Sign up for Ready, Set, Game! taking place on Wednesday, February 22 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. This is our new gaming program for patrons ages 8-14 where we’ll be pulling out our Nintendo Switch and offering a space to hang out and play games with friends. This is the first of hopefully many more Ready, Set, Game! programs to come this year. Registration is required and program is limited to 10 patrons ages 8-14.
Virtual STEM Club Littles Edition: Music Maker
Who’s ready to make some music? Virtual STEM Club Littles Edition: Music Maker will have Littles (ages 5 & under) creating their own harmonicas using craft sticks and rubber bands. Registration for Take-and-Make bags will begin on Wednesday, February 22. Follow along with library staff on YouTube as we guide you and your little one through building the harmonica and learning about how small vibrations become the sounds we call music! This program does require registration, parental supervision, and is limited to 25 patrons.
