Create a Collage
Do you want to submit a piece to Portland Creates but you aren’t sure what to make? Then this program is for you. On Wednesday, March 29 at 6:00 p.m., we will use paints, tissue paper, and oil pastels to create custom papers, which we will then turn into one-of-a-kind collages. With opportunities to work collaboratively and on your own, a good time is guaranteed! Ages 15 and up, registration is required.
Put the “Book” in “Pocketbook”
What could be cuter—or more environmentally friendly—than turning old books into fun and funky purses? With a little bit of sewing and a little bit of gluing, you can add this statement piece to your wardrobe. Register anytime, and then check out the instructional video and your bag of supplies on March 30. Ages 15 and up, registration is limited to 15. Don’t miss your chance to “bag” this project!

Virtual STEM Club Littles Edition: Music Maker
Who’s ready to make some music? Virtual STEM Club Littles Edition: Music Maker will have Littles (ages 5 & under) creating their own harmonicas using craft sticks and rubber bands. Registration for Take-and-Make bags will begin on Wednesday, February 22. Follow along with library staff on YouTube as we guide you and your little one through building the harmonica and learning about how small vibrations become the sounds we call music! This program does require registration, parental supervision, and is limited to 25 patrons.
