Obituary for Frank Perez Sanchez, Jr.


Frank P. Sanchez, Jr., loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away surrounded by his family on August 18, 2022 at the age of 87. He was born in San Antonio, Texas to Francisco and Nicolaza (Perez) Sanchez. Frank met the love of his life, his sweetheart, Patricia (Roach) and they were lucky enough to celebrate 67 years together. They were married in 1955 in Alma, Michigan and went on to raise a beautiful family together. Frank brought joy into every room he entered. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed every memory he made with them. Frank was never one to sit idle, he was a very hard worker. Retiring in 1989, after 37 years of service from General Motors, Frank continued to work and help others. In his free time, he and Pat enjoyed traveling and camping, spending time anywhere there was sunshine. Frank was faithful to God and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Portland for many years.


Preceding Frank in death are his parents; daughter, Susan Elizabeth Sanchez; siblings, John (Lucinda) Sanchez, Art (Mary) Sanchez, Al (Theresa) Sanchez, Ernestine (John) Cantu, and Connie Garcia; and brother-in-law, Pat Cadena. Left on Earth to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Patricia Sanchez; children, Joni Sanchez, Frank (Sally) Sanchez, Mark Sanchez, Andrea (Randy) Pung, and Amy (Ted) Lindenbusch; grandchildren, Matthew Lesky, Michael Lesky, Sherry (Rick) Bonilla, Jessica (Jeremy) Weaver, Mark Sanchez, Nick (Jamie) Sanchez, Frank (Jennifer) Sanchez, Joseph Pung, Paul (Tori) Pung, Lily Pung, Goldie (Nick) Rapp, Sam (Brad) Gutzki, Abie (TJ) Hughes, and Madalyn Currie; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Ane Cadena; brother-in-law, Henry Garcia; and many members of his extended family.


The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Mike Alber at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. The rosary will be prayed on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. with a time for sharing memories following at the funeral chapel.
