Obituary for Jerald Lynn Litchfield

Jerald Lynn Litchfield, age 79, of Portland passed away October 31, 2023. He was born November 11, 1943 to Leo and Cecilia (Kelly) Litchfield of Palo, Michigan.

Jerald served in the United States Army Reserves from 1962 to 1968. On August 29, 1964 he married Kathleen Ann Kuchar of Lansing and began a family. He worked at General Motors, Fisher Body Plant and retired in 1989. He owned Morrison Lake Service and Storage until 2016.

Jerry and Kathy enjoyed their retirement life in Florida during the winter. Spending their “seasoned” time on the beach with friends and family. -And if you knew Jerry now “He’s finer than a frog hair”. Jerry loved his children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to take them on a camping adventure. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Kathy; parents; Leo and Cecilia (Kelly) Litchfield, brother Lynn Litchfield; brother; Leon Litchfield, and sister; Linda Litchfield

Survived by his loving children, Jeffrey (Melissa) Litchfield of Portland, MI; Jason (April) Litchfield of Gould City, MI and Kelly Litchfield (Steve) Gross of Colorado Springs, CO; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with the 14th on it’s way; siblings, Beverly (Litchfield) Anderson and Retta (Litchfield) Morris and Loving Friend, Rose Huhn who we would like to give a special thank you to, who was with Dad through his hardest last days.

His Celebration of life will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 12th at the VFW, 1324 E. Bridge St., Portland, Michigan.
