Obituary for Jerry Ronald Davis
Jerry Ronald Davis, age 78, was born to Roland and Eleanor (Foster) Davis in Lansing, Michigan on February 16, 1944. He passed away on May 9, 2022.
Jerry was a very active person. He worked for GM for over 25 years, giving them his best. He endured over half a lifetime of pain, which resulted from his injuries received while serving our country in the U.S. Army.
He loved hunting with his dad and brother in his younger days. Jerry also loved working in his yard, sometimes from sunup to sundown. He loved traveling to the UP, being around people whether they were strangers or someone he saw every day.
He was proud of his 26 years of sobriety and also of being a part of the 1960 Haslett Football team's induction into the Greater Lansing Area Hall of Fame.
Jerry seemed hard shelled on the outside, but he loved deeply within his heart. He cherished his wife and family more than anything.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents; brother, Larry; and brother-in-law, Mike George. He was also predeceased by his mother and father-in-law, Norman and Catherine Thelen.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Bernice; his daughters, Tracy Davis and Heather (Josh) Higbee, and Cyndy; grandchildren, Aleigha and Skyla; great-grandchildren, Coraline and Charlotte; sister, Bonnie George; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sylvia Davis, Jeanette and Francis Thelen, Geri and Tom Simon, Walt and Bernie Thelen, Mark and Dawn Thelen, Ev and Lee Pohl, Rosie and Russ Snitgen, and Ray and Ann Thelen; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
