Obituary for Rachelle Kay Gladding
Rachelle Kay Gladding, born April 25th, 1990 in Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on November 21st, 2023 at the age of 33.
Raised in Portland, Michigan, Rachelle was a 2008 graduate of Portland High School. She pursued her education at Lansing Community College and graduated from Davenport University with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management. She landed an administrative job at Michigan State University where she was also an avid MSU sports fan.
Rachelle was known by many for her positivity and optimism. She loved time spent with family and friends, often taking cross country trips to see loved ones. She started bowling at age four and was a standout on the High School bowling team advancing to state finals. As an adult, Rachelle's passion was traveling. She took countless day trips around Michigan visiting unique places such as dairy stores and discovering new restaurants. Rachelle was a sports card enthusiast and loved attending various sporting events, especially MSU Basketball and Detroit Tigers.
Rachelle is preceded in death by her grandparents, Estel and Josephine (Selbach) Gladding and Norman and Marie (Werner) Klein.
She is survived by her father, Ronald Gladding of Lyons; mother, Colleen Gladding (Dennis TenEyck) of Portland; brothers, Brennon Gladding of Grand Rapids and Ryan Gladding (James Pence) of Lansing; significant other, Matt Dickinson of East Lansing, and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at St. Patrick Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland.
