Obituary for Roberta J. (Bobbie) Grant
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roberta (Bobbie) J. Grant of Portland, Michigan, who peacefully left us on December 12, 2024, at the age of 79. Known as Bobbie to all who knew and loved her, she was born on November 27, 1945, to Howard and Ruth (Hewitt) Hoag, who predeceased her. She was a cherished sister to Barry Hoag, Kris Fitch, and Ken Hoag, all of whom she has joined in eternal peace. She is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings, Judy Schreiner, Patricia Reid, and Howard (Tina) Hoag.
Bobbie’s greatest joy was her family, especially the love she shared with her husband of 61 years, Ronald K. Grant. Together, they created a life full of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Bobbie was a loving and devoted mother to Daniece (Pat) Wisniewski and Ryan (Christina) Grant. One of her favorite things was being a grandmother to her five grandchildren, Kris Davidson, Leah (Nick) Dryer, James (Megan) Wolf, Ronald (Brittnae) Grant, and Brandon Grant. She was also overjoyed to welcome her great grandchildren, Joey Wolf and Lilian Grant, who brought her so much happiness.
Bobbie had a deep love for life and the simple pleasures it offered. She found joy in camping trips with her family, the thrill of a day at the casino, and the quiet moments spent birdwatching with her husband, Ronald. She was a compassionate dog mom to several furry companions (including Babe, Gracie & Chloe), always caring for them with warmth and affection.
A celebration of her remarkable life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, her family kindly requests that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
