Portland Baseball falls in second round of Diamond Classic
On Monday night, the Raiders beat Williamston in first round of The Diamond Classic.
Caden Thelen earned the victory for the Raiders on the mound. Thelen pitched a complete game allowing two hits and one run while striking out eight! The Raiders bats were on fire with a total of ten hits! Offensively the Raiders were led by senior Marc Nobis 3-4 with 2 RBI and Evan Thelen 3-4. The Raiders also saw hits from Caden Thelen, Carson Martin, Barrett Brennan & Gunner Williams. The Raiders defensively were sound without committing a single error in the field!
In the quarterfinal round on Thursday, the Raiders rallied late, but fell to Grand Ledge 9-8.

With the 2023 commencement ceremony at PHS conflicting with Thursday’s game time, five Portland seniors received there diplomas in a small ceremony before the game.
