Portland Bowlers top Lansing Catholic
The Portland Bowling teams traveled to City Limits East in East Lansing to compete against Lansing Catholic. All 3 Portland teams advanced to 2-0 on the season.
The Portland Boys dominated this match winning 26-4. The Raider boys had 3 games over 200. Alec McGinnis put together games of 225 and 202 to lead the team with a 427 series. Paul Roberts pitched in a 204 to go with his 182 game for a 386 series.
The Portland JV team continued the dominance with a match win of 30-0. Niles Kreiner and Tyler Kowatch battled it out for top spot on the JV team. Miles edged Tyler by one pin shooting a 280 series to Tyler's 279.
In the match of the day, the Portland Girls pulled victory out from the jaws of defeat winning 17-13. After the first game, the girls were down 8-1. In game 2, Lily Keller needed to pick up a 5 pin on the last ball to win the game and keep Portland in the match. She converted and Portland cut into the lead making it 13-7 going into Bakers. Portland needed to win both Baker games which they did when, once again, Lily needed to make a spare in the last frame. Portland was led by newcomer Keira Moffatt who shot games of 133 and 157 for a 290 series.
