Portland’s Drew Miller to continue football and wrestling careers at Heidelberg University
Portland High School senior Drew Miller recently signed to continue his football and wrestling careers at Heidelberg University.
When asked about his choice to attend Heidelberg, Miller said, “I decided to attend Heidelberg because it felt like the right fit. Most importantly their education was a great fit for me and what I am interested in. It also provided me a lot of educational opportunities. They also gave me the option of playing both football and wrestling. I connected with coaches with very well and they were both excited about having me. My brother Devin Miller also went to school and coaches at Heidelberg currently and has had a great experience. I am looking forward to this next step and the challenges it brings.”
Miller was a multi-sport athlete for the Raiders. He wrestled and played football all four years of high school and competed on varsity for three years in football and all four years of wrestling. He also played baseball, track, and golf at PHS.

Miller also expressed his gratitude to his coaches and teammates at PHS. He told the Beacon, “I would like to thank all of my coaches for all of the time and dedication you put into developing me in sport and in life. I appreciate all of their effort in helping me reach my goals. I also want to thank my teammates for all of their support and the great memories we were able to make together. Portland athletics have taught me a lot and have helped me develop and grow as a person in many ways.”
Located in Tiffin, Ohio, and founded in 1850, Heidelberg University is a four-year private liberal arts and professional preparation school. The school currently has 1,050 undergrad students and 130 graduate students. The Heidelberg “Student Princes” compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference, a NCAA DIII conference.
