Portland High School senior Karter Edwards recently signed to cheer at Alma College next year.
As a student at Portland, Edwards participated in three years of competitive cheer, two years of sideline cheer, one year of softball, and one year of track.
In cheer, Edwards was selected all conference (2023), first team districts (2023), second team regional (2023), honorable mention district (2024), and second team regional (2024).
When asked about her decision on Alma College, Edwards told the Beacon, “I chose to attend alma because the atmosphere there was great, the people were very nice, and I liked the size of the school.”
Edwards added, “I would like to thank my coaches, friends, and family for their support.”
PHS Varsity Cheerleading Coach Mindy Blaschka told the Beacon, “Karter is more than an athlete; she’s a powerhouse, always pushing boundaries with her drive, determination, and exceptional talent. We can’t wait to see all the incredible things she'll accomplish at Alma!”
