Portland Softball Hall of Fame Announces Class of 2025

The Portland Softball Hall of Fame was established in 2019 to recognize players, coaches, teams and contributors who represent the foremost in achievement and lasting impact on Portland Softball. It is our honor to announce that Amy (Pline) Guilford and Brandee (Battley) Novara have been selected for induction into the Portland Softball Hall of Fame class of 2025.
Amy (Pline) Guilford
Third Base 1994 - 1997
Amy Pline was an extraordinary third baseman whose defensive brilliance, outstanding range, and strong arm defined her career. A four-year starter, she neutralized opponents' bunts with ease and became a powerful offensive force through determination and hard work.
Amy's career is filled with accolades. She was named the team's Most Improved Player in 1994, Outstanding Defensive Player in 1996, and Outstanding Offensive Player in 1997. She earned First Team All-Conference honors from 1995 to 1997, All-District Honorable Mention in 1995, and All-State honors in both 1996 and 1997. A leader on and off the field, Amy served as team captain in 1996 and 1997.
Her contributions were pivotal to her team's success, leading to three league championships and an impressive 109-36 record. As a senior, she achieved a .400 batting average and a .910 fielding percentage, cementing her legacy as a standout player.
Brandee (Battley) Novara
Pitcher 1991 -1993, Junior Varsity and Varsity Coach 1997 - Present
Brandee Novara was a remarkable player and dedicated coach for Portland softball. As a 3 year varsity pitcher, she recorded 57 wins, 29 losses, 473 strikeouts, 18 shutouts, 7 no-hitters, and an ERA of 2.26. She assisted teams to 3 League championships, received All-Conference awards each year and earned All-District and Regional recognition. She was team MVP during her junior and senior years and League MVP in 1993
.
Brandee played softball for Grand Valley State University, then returned to Portland, serving as the JV softball coach for 22 years, recording 404 wins and 117 losses. She spent one year as varsity assistant, then became head coach in 2021. Brandee’s commitment to teaching fundamentals of the game and preparing players for varsity competition contributed to the program’s success. Her passion and love of the game was evident, instilling enthusiasm for the game on many young athletes.
To celebrate Amy and Brandee‘s success a ceremony will be held at the Spring Sports Carnival on May 3rd. Their introduction and plaque unveiling will take place after the first round of games, approximately 11:30 - 12:00 pm.
