Raider Boys pick up OT win over Sexton

On Tuesday night, the Portland High School boys basketball team displayed an excellent team effort to defeat Sexton in overtime.

Raider coach Jason Goerge told the Beacon, “We had to overcome a 12-2 deficit after the 1st quarter.”

The Raiders were led by Trent Meyers with15 points. Arnau Lopez had 14 points, Grant Ruddy had 14 points and 9 rebounds, Aiden Marowelli had 6 points and 8 rebounds, and Mark Nobis chipped in with 6 pts.

Goerge said, “So proud of our guys fight tonight, and getting that first win of the season in OT.”

The team’s next contest is this Friday against Lansing Catholic at home. They play Durand on Saturday.
