Raider Softball season ends in Regional Semi-Finals
The Portland High School softball season came to an end on Saturday at Hudsonville Unity Christian when the Raiders fell to Hamilton 5-2 in the regional semi-finals.
Despite scoring two runs in the fifth inning and getting multiple runners on base in their last at bat, the Hawkeyes of Hamilton proved too much for the Raiders on this day.
Junior Anastasia Seidelman led the Raiders offensively going two for three. Junior Bailee Fish had one hit and two RBIs. Sophomore Bella Spitzley, senior Jayden Townsend, and sophomore Vada Smith each had one hit for the Raiders.
Spitzley got the loss for Portland on the mound pitching six innings and striking out two while holding the Hawkeyes to eight hits.
The Raiders finished the 2024 season with a 22-9 record, and a district championship.
