Raider Softball splits with Fowlerville

On Thursday, the Portland High School softball team hosted the Gladiators of Fowlerville.

Game 1: Portland 5, Fowlerville 1

Junior Jayden Townsend pitched the complete game for Portland, striking out six and allowing seven hits.

At the plate, Townsend went three for three with a double, and freshman Lilly Thelen went three for four. Freshman Bella Spitzley added a double for Portland while junior Bailee Fish had a single.

Game 2: Fowlerville 10, Portland 4

Spitzley pitched the full game for Portland, striking out four.

Freshman Rylee Miller led the Raider offense going two for three. Fish, Townsend, Spitzley and sophomore Chloey Page each had one hit for Portland.

Portland is now 4-5 on the season. The Lady Raiders travel to Bailey Park in Battle Creek on Saturday to compete in the Gull Lake Invitational.
