Shamrock runners compete at Michigan Catholic Cross Country Invitational


At the Michigan Catholic Cross Country Invitational Saturday, both the boys and girls teams had great results at the first meet of the season. This an all Catholic schools meet from around the state including teams from all divisions, 1-4.


The girls cross country team finished 15th among all schools from divisions 1-4. The team was lead by senior Laynie Meredith finishing 39th overall with a tine of 22:51, followed by freshman Marian Davlin at 24:30, senior Olivia Pung 26:02, Freshman Siena Schafer 27:43, senior Arianna FoxElster 31:47 and freshman Emma Martin 32:34.


The boys team with 4 runners will not earn a team score. They were led by sophomore TJ Chamberlain finishing 45th overall at 19:03, followed by sophomore Isaac FoxElster 19:51, freshman Francis Austen 21:25 and 8th grader Levi Knoop 21:44.


The team enjoyed an outdoor Mass with all the other schools following the race.
