Shamrock Softball sweeps East Lansing, tops Potterville before falling to Fowler in District Finals
For the last home games of the Shamrocks season, they hosted East Lansing on Thursday. The Shamrocks won the first game 16-2 and Tori Sandborn took the win on the mound.
Offensively the Shamrocks had 17 hits in the first game.
Hayley Fleischer and Addison Scheurer both went 3-for-3, Emma and Mattie Honsowitz both went 3-for-4 and Gracelyn Rockey went 2-for-3. Addison had a double and Gracleyn had a triple.
In game two, the Shamrocks won 16-5 and Mattie Honsowitz took the win on the mound with six strikeouts.
The Shamrocks recorded 12 hits in game two, with Gracelyn Rockey going 3-for-4 with a homerun, her 11th for the season, and Mattie Honsowitz and Natalee Teachworth both had multiple hits in the game.
The Shamrocks ended the regular season going 17-10-1.
The team ended the season in the District Championship game on Saturday at Fowler. The Shamrocks won game one versus Potterville 18-0 to make it into the Championship game but had a tough loss to Fowler 3-4.
In the final game Natalee Teachworth led offensively going 2-for-4 with a 3-run homerun in the 7th inning and Mattie Honsowitz had a double. Tori Sandborn pitched the complete game with 3 strikeouts and battled all day for the Shamrocks.
