St. Patrick Shamrock Softball takes two from Dansville
It was a fun night at the ballpark on Thursday as we celebrated our youth ball players and we had a very special batgirl! However, the Shamrocks got off to a slow start and were down 5-0 early in game one but quickly got the bats going to walk away with a 16-6 win after five innings. All Shamrock hitters in game one were able to connect and walk away with at least one hit. Leading the team was Rylee Scheurer who had three hits with a triple and four RBIs, Gracelyn Rockey had two hits with a Homerun and three RBIs, Laynie Meredith had two hits with 4RBIs and an in the park homerun, and Emma Honsowitz had a double and two RBIs.
Natalee Teachworth got the win in game one with four strikeouts to improve her pitching record to 2-1. In game two, the Shamrocks started off hitting early and were able to walk away with an 11-1 win in five innings. 8th grader, Gracelyn Rockey led the team going 4-for-4 with another Homerun for the night, a double and three RBIs, Hannah Weller had two hits with three RBIs, Emma Honsonwitz had two hits and Laynie Meredith had a triple. Tori Sandborn got the win with four total strikeouts, improving her pitching record to 4-0 for the season. The Shamrock defense remained solid with zero errors for the night. This weekend St. Patrick’s travels to Lake Leelanau to play in the Kris Popp Memorial Tournament at St. Mary’s and then is on the road to face Fowler on Monday as league play continues. A huge thank you to everyone who came out tonight to help support our Raise the Net fundraiser!!
