The Portland Civic Players Announces Cast for DreamWorks' Shrek The Musical!


The Portland Community Theater active once again, as the Portland Civic Players prepare for the fall production of Shrek The Musical. Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek.


"We are very excited to announce the cast for this popular and enchanting musical!", said director Mary Teachout. The part of Shrek is being played by Matt Thelen, Donkey by Antonius Watkins, Fiona by Mary Green, Lord Farquuad by Arron Swan, and Dragon by Tiffany Barron. The Muffin Man/Gingy will be portrayed by Madison Sharp, Pinocchio by Iggy Arleth, King Harold/Big Bad Wolf by Dan Braker , Queen Lillian/Fairy Godmother by Emily Perry, Peter Pan by Josephine Polasek, the Three

Little Pigs by Kelsey Brannon, and Laura Johnson, and Autumn Simons, the Wicked Witch by Cassandra Jasma, Sugar Plum Fairy by Amber Miller, Ugly Duckling by Kelly Frazee, Ogre Family/Three Bears by Jonathan Bair, Chris Horvath and Keira Cymbal and Zoe Isbell. Also appearing are the Mad Hatter portrayed by Matt Dorn, Elf by Evie Johnston, Dwarf by Audrey Frazee, Three Blind Mice by Autumn Simons, Jazmyn Hard, and Amber Miller, White Rabbit by Sarah Jandernoa, Pied Piper by Jazmyn Hard, Captain of the Guard/Thelonius by Tyler Tichvon, Knights/Guards by Leon Miller, Pam Robinson, Madi Crowley, Josie Isbell, and Erin Hoard, Young Fiona by Rosie Johnston, Teen Fiona by Josie Isbell, and the Rats/Duloc Dancers by Heather's Dance Studio of St. Johns.


“We are so excited to bring this incredible show to our Portland stage!” said director Mary Teachout. “We have an amazingly talented cast with a great mix of familiar faces and those new to our stage. We couldn’t be happier with the enthusiasm of everyone involved!”

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award[1]winning fairy tale adventure, featuring songs from Jeanine Tesori, and book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek The Musical brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage, and proves there's more to the story than meets the ears. Shrek The Musical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also

The PCP production is directed by Mary Teachout, with assistant director Erin Hoard. Play dates are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 4-6, and 11-13 at the Portland Community Theater, located at 231 Maple Street, Portland. Both Friday performances will be in the evening at 7:30pm with matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday at 2:30pm. Tickets go on sale October 10!
